We sure would have liked to see yours as well Jonathon. This has not happened in the past.
The spring on the UK is a pretty tricky bit of kit. We have to use a blade steel for the spring because the large Vanadium carbides in the blade tang were wearing down the normal stainless spring materials (420J2, 420mod, etc.), despite high polish. The addition of the "notch" complicates the problem. Special heat treats that are very critical in the process.
If we can test the failed part, we can learn. If we learn, we can improve. Humans must "always" improve. That's one of the "special human features" that separate us from other animals. That and the "edge"
