I’m a sucker for Ladybugs, Jesters and the Manbug. So this salt version of the Manbug with a sheepfoot blade is a no-brainer. The tag at the meet said Manbug Sheepfoot, so I’m going with that, even though the catalog lists it as both the Manbug Salt and Manbug Rescue Salt. Whatever the name, this little folder is a must-have for me!

The Manix 2 was a nice surprise for the Amsterdam Meet. My first Manix, was in fact one of those hefty Mini Manixes with a back lock. This version is a bit bigger and seemed much lighter than the original Mini Manix. The thick G-10 handle slabs come sans liners! I was happy to note that steel threaded inserts are used to fix the clip, something a lefty like me certainly appreciates. The G-10 also features a very fine but still aggressive texture on the surface. This micro texture seems like a nice compromise between going easy on the pocket but still providing a very positive grip in hand. I’m not sure what the lock strength is on this back lock versus the caged ball lock on the regular Manix 2. This back lock should be easier to manipulate with gloves though.

The Meerkat has been the subject of quite a few sprints over the years and I’d love to add this version to my collection. This HAP40 sprint is basically the same as the Delica, Endura and Stretch HAP40 sprints. However, none of those sport that fun phantom lock!

pour les amateurs de système...
I think I’ve seen a concept model of A.T. Barr’s One-Eyed Jack some ten years ago during an Amsterdam Meet. I recall that design being rather plain. So I was happily surprised to see this kind of blingy cool and very refined production sample of the One-Eyed Jack. It’s a cliché, but man that Taichung factory can sure turn out some impressive knives!
