Je suis un coutelier brésilienne et ont besoin d'informations sur lacier Bohler N678. Je suis particulièrement intéressé par la façon dont il se compare à 440C et les CPMs et toutes les informations seront les bienvenues.

BÖHLER N678 is a hardenable
Chromium steel with Molybdenum
and Vanadium addition and
• excellent corrosion resistance,
especially in salt water and
media containing chloride ions
• good hardenability and high
obtainable hardness after
hardening
(57 – 59 HRC)
• good wear resistance
• good machinability
• good polishability.

Application
Cutting tools of all kinds, requiring
higher corrosion resistance and a
durable cutting edge, e.g. knives for
the meat processing industry, bowl
cutter knifes.
Cutting tools, knife blades, knife
plates, etc. with high cutting
hardness and toughness.
Also for wear resistant components.

En gros, d'après ce que j'ai compris ça résiste très bien à l'oxydation, et c'est correct pour faire des couteaux. D'après leur doc, 57-59 HRC semble vraiment la limite haute.
La "recommanded working hardness" se situant à 53-55 HRC.

Merci pour votre aide. J'ai parlé à Kevin Wilkins de l'Allemagne et il semble être un acier inoxydable de performances comparables à 440B.
