je viens de découvrir ce gars qui fait des jolis textures de matériaux composites :

des exemples de manches :

As promised in my introduction thread here is some picutres of my own work and the work of some of my customers. Thanks for looking!

First is a recent laminate I made up for Bark River Knife and Tool to put on a new model they are making soon, the Bumble Bee

Although I much prefer to make and sell laminates, sometimes I modify or rescale a knife to show off a new laminate.

Here is one I am just finishing up. A Kershaw Lahar with a Krein Grind I rescaled with a carbon fiber and silk laminate:

The customer above saw this tanto blade I mounted in a somewhat traditional style in the same carbon fiber and copper colored silk laminate. I occasionally like to make a knife from a blade I take in trade or purchase.

This is one I just finished:

A while back, I got a PT recurve in trade. I thought it would be fun to make it into something that is a little less black and a little more casual.

It came with a low rider clip by STR. The finish on the clip and lock side were mismatched, so I sent them both back to him for anodizing blue:

Then I made some denim scales for it, from my own handmade laminate. They are a two piece design copying the factory scales except for forward screw set has a copper standoff to provide for the blade stop. It is just to difficult to copy the factory scale exactly in this area. Mr. H, I see, uses something similar on a Strider he has done recently. It is a great idea and a real work saver.

Actually I made two sets, one left flat like the factory scale and the other lightly rounded.

Rounded set installed, the other flat 2 part set with copper standoff below the knife:

I also made up some extra copper standoffs so the option of replacing the denim spacer is available. This is nice because the most rearward standoff, screw set allows for a nice place to attach a lanyard, correcting about the only shortcoming of this excellent knife.

Shown with the flat scale:

Three made by Joel Bolden from my laminates:
Burlap, denim and carbon fiber

Some glow yarn composite I traded for my website (thanks to Rob aka Centerfinger), that went to Landi to put on knives

Some that Bark River used my laminates on,
Burlap:

One by David Farmer using a custom purple and green linen laminate

Again, Thanks for looking. I have more interest in making and selling laminates: My building of knives is more of a way of showing off my laminates. Although I do enjoy building them, I'd rather make the laminates for others to do something cool with.

Thanks for looking and let me know your questions, comments, etc.
